If you are planning to have a trip in East Java, Kawah Ijen is something that you should put into your destination list. Where it is located? Kawah Ijen is located near from mount Ijen in East Java. Its location is between Banyuwangi and Bondowoso. If you take a private car, you can start from Banyuwangi to Licil then you will pass Jambu then Banyuline until stop at Reservation Park Mount Ijen. For backpacker, you can start from Surabaya to Bondowoso by taking bus about 7 hours then continue with taking jip from Bondowoso to Paulding post because the street cannot be passed by any city car.
The entrance fee in Kawah Ijen is very cheap because every domestic visitor only pay 2000 and 15000 for foreign tourist. There you can see many kinds of animal and plants in the reservation park, but hold on that’s not the greatest thing. Prepare for see the attraction of colorful lave in this crater. The sulfur will be released from the crater and roll down to the path. When it’s active, the lava colors are available in 3 kinds such as red, yellow and blue. The best time to visit this place is between Juli and August because you can see Edelweis flower blossoms and mining activity. Unfortunately, the rule says that camera and handy camera is forbidden when the mining activity is on.
