Ayam Betutu is a food which is made from the whole part of chicken which is covered with special spicy and it is burned inside fire husk. When you eat Ayam Betutu you will taste the sensation of hot and spicy all at once. Sometimes people who do not like a chicken replace it with duck, but the name will change to be bebek betutu. Actually it is the original food from Bali especially from Gilimanuk and Gianyar, but you can taste this food in every place in Bali. For those people who are not in Bali, Ayam betutu is maybe hard to find. The only one solution is finding the Balinese restaurant.

If you cannot find it yet, why don’t make it by yourself? You just need to prepare whole part of chicken, oil, orange leaf, lemongrass and coconut milk. In another place prepare pounded spices which contain of red chili, red onion, garlic, turmeric, galingale, pepper, green chili, corlander and terasi. First bake the chicken until a half cooked then leak it through. Then sauté pounded spices with oil until the smell is good then put the chicken and coconut milk altogether, cook it until the spicy dries out. Make the spice even in whole part of the chicken, cover it with banana leaf and bake it in fire husk
