The History of the Paris of Java

Bandung is the third largest city and also the second largest metropolitan area in Indonesia. It is located approximately 140 km south east of the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta. And maybe this is also the reason why most people who live in Jakarta mostly choose Bandung for the gateway. The city itself lies on a river basin that is surrounded by many volcanic mountains which makes this place has quite good natural system of defense and this was exactly what people in the past made use of as Dutch colony planned on moving the colony capital from Batavia which is now known as Jakarta to Bandung as they thought Bandung has a good topography.

Famous buildings that have that style of architectures can be found on Asia-Afrika Street which is also a very historical street that named after a monumental conference with the same name. Gedung Sate is also a building in Bandung which was specifically designed by Dutch.
