Besides Borobudur and Prambanan, other temple that could be found in Indonesia is Mendut Temple. This temple might be not as popular as the previous two, but it still offer amazing site to be explored and well worth visited. Below are some essential details about the site.
Location: Mendut Temple is located in Central Java, not far from Borobudur Temple. It could be accessed on one way trip while you’re visiting Borobudur.
Opening Day/Hour: The site opens daily from 07.00 Am to 18.00 PM. If you’re visiting Borobudur, you could visit this site on your way back to Yogyakarta area. You also could visit it before you reach Borobudur area.
Entrance Fee: The entrance fee that you need to pay is IDR 1,800 for Indonesians and IDR 3,300 for non-Indonesian visitors. It’s quite cheaper compared to Borobudur or Prambanan. But it’s worth enough since the temple is quite amazing.
Street Direction to Location: If you want to visit this temple from Yogyakarta area, you could straight ahead to Muntilan. From the main road of Muntilan you could turn left where you could see signpost directing you to the site. On the other hand, if you want to visit the site after you’re visiting Borobudur, you could take the same road for about 3 Km and you should turn right on the signpost.
Do n Don’ts: Like the Borobudur and Prambanan, here on Mendut Temple you could see its magnificent architecture and take some pictures. The size of this temple is not as big as the previous two but it still offers incredible architecture. Do not cause any damage to the monuments and try to put the garbage on any available trash cans. You also could buy several souvenirs on the site and try several local foods and drinks while you’re here.
