Solo, or sometimes it is called as Surakarta is famous with its traditional art called Batik. This kind of traditional fabric has been famous in all over the world due to the uniqueness of its pattern and image, but actually Solo has more attractions than just a producer of Batik, such as having a historical place like Keraton Solo.
Keraton Solo has a connection to Keraton Yogyakarta that is why we can see many similarities in both places, especially in the culture. By the way, Keraton Solo is located in the center of the city which can be reached by taking Trans Batik Jogja to Klewer Market. Then walking for while until you see two big beringin tree and you will see a board written “ Keraton Yogyakarta”. The entrance fee in Keraton Solo is Rp 4000 for domestic tourist and Rp 8000 for foreign tourist. If you want to bring your camera, you have to pay Rp 1000 and Rp 2000 if you bring the video. It opens from Monday to Thursday at 9 am to 2 pm and satuday to Sunday at 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday is day off.
In Keraton Solo, you can see beautiful view of pathway which is full of shady trees and you also can see many traditional heritages from this place and its kingdom at Keraton Solo museum. For that you have to pay additional price Rp 10000. This place is very sacred that is why just be behave here, don’t do anything bad and always pay attention to the warning. Plus do not wear impolite clothes here, it is better to wear a long short or skirt and sleeved shirt or t-shirt.
