When you hear about Jakarta, what comes up in your mind? The answer could be a capital city of Indonesia, big city, traffic or rush hour, but anyway even though the traffic jam is one thing which is famous from Jakarta, it has another good place to go called Monas.

Monas means a lot for Indonesia since it becomes the symbol of freedom at that time. Monas is divided into some parts such as Fire tongue as the highest part, pelataran puncak , pelataran bawah and the National historical museum. When you come to this place, the main attraction which is offered is seeing the fire tongue which is made from gold. From pelataran puncak, you also can see the city near from Jakarta such as West Java or Thousand island, but it is possible when the sky is bright. If you want to know about Indonesia freedom history, visiting the museum is a good idea because in the museum you can observe the dioramas and other things about the Indonesia’s freedom. If you want to enjoy the breeze of the wind, you can go to the Monas garden for just taking a walk or sitting in the fountain.

Visiting Monas is not difficult since it can be reached by many kinds of transportation such as you can take a train to Gambir station and walk to Monas. It just spends 5 minutes. Or you also can take Trans Jakarta bus to this place. To entrance Monas, each one should pay Rp. 2000 for kids and Rp 5000 for adult, but if you want to climb to the top, you have to pay additional cost Rp 2000. It opens every day from 9 am to 6 pm local time.
